Theater
At FDC we not only focus on dance but on performance and dramatic arts of all kinds, including theatre. We offer everything from the playful nature of improvisation and theatre games for the young artists in the community to a more refined and in-depth approach for the more seasoned artists as well as a hybrid blend of the two because, here at Fused, we understand that each artist progresses at their own level. Students will participate in both straight plays and musicals, with a combination of one-act and full-length performances.
Below you will find suggested age levels for each class so you can find the perfect fit for you or your child. Step with us into a world of pure imagination as we all act well our parts!
Beginner Theatre | Tuesdays | 5:00pm-7:00pm
⁃ Suggested ages: 3rd Grade - Middle School, but based on experience level.
Students will learn:
⁃ The basic fundamentals of theatre, improvisation, and proper warmup techniques
⁃ How to audition as well as how to make a professional impression in the audition room
⁃ Basic musical theatre vocal and dance techniques to improve theatre performances
⁃ How to act in a part and evoke emotion using your movements, facial expressions, and vocals
⁃ How to put on short plays and productions in front of an audience
- How to memorize lines
Advanced Theatre | Tuesdays | 6:00pm-8:00pm:
⁃ Suggested ages: High school and beyond, but based on experience level.
Students will learn:
⁃ Advanced techniques to enhance acting performances, including how to use your vocals, stance, and tone
⁃ Advanced vocal and harmonic techniques to build layers in a performance
⁃ Theatre dance techniques for enhanced performances to keep the audience entertained
⁃ How to put on full length productions for an audience as a principal character and how to make the audience feel emotions when they are performing
Students in either of these programs will have a combined class on Tuesdays from 6:00pm-7:00pm where they will work on group numbers and our current productions.
